Your Questions, Answered
-
No prior experience is required for most of our courses. We welcome beginners and provide all necessary materials.
-
Just bring yourself! We provide all course materials and equipment. Comfortable clothing is recommended for practical exercises. For American Heart Association (AHA) courses, however, it is an expressed AHA policy that course participants are required to have the latest edition of the American Heart Association provider manual/textbook for their respective courses. You may purchase the required course textbook from us during class registration or at check-in for the class, or through other distributors of your choice. Each student must have the current appropriate course textbook readily available for use before, during, and after the course. Students will not be allowed to attend their certification class without the required textbook for their respective courses, per compliance with AHA policy. Book sharing is not permitted, so each student needs his or her own copy. Hardcopy or digital versions are accepted, however, as long as they are the latest edition of the AHA textbook. Other non-AHA licensed course materials are not permitted during the class. Blended learning courses (e.g. AHA Heartcode courses) already provide digital versions of the book within the online course module, however you must bring the digital textbook during your skills session in order to be compliant with AHA policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.
*Please note the following statement from the American Heart Association regarding usage of their course materials:
“The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.”

Course duration varies: BLS is 4 hours, while Heartsaver and Heartsaver Pediatric courses are typically 3-4 hours.

You can register for any of our public class offerings on our website at www.cpresources.org. You can also call or send us a text message at (626) 214-5882 to inquire and/or schedule a class with us.

We understand that sometimes, stuff happens when you least expect it! If, for any reason, you can no longer attend your originally scheduled class date, please contact us at least 24 hours before the start of the class at (626) 214-5882. Though not always guaranteed, we would try to move you to the next available course date and/or time that fits your schedule at no extra charge to you. Please note that you cannot transfer your course enrollment to another date online and we cannot issue refunds due to the associated costs of running the class. When the transfer request is made less than 24 hours prior to the start of the class, a new enrollment payment will be required prior to registering to a new class date and/or time.
-
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds to our classes once your registration is complete due to the associated costs of running the class (e.g. course materials and supplies, travel costs, mandatory AHA class fees, etc). If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from being able to attend the class, please contact us at (626) 214-5882 at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class. Though not always guaranteed, we would try to move you to the next available course date and/or time that fits your schedule at no extra charge to you. Transfer requests are only valid for the same certification course/class type as the originally scheduled class. We cannot accommodate transfer requests made less than 24 hours from the start of the class and we will require a new enrollment payment to transfer to a new class registration date and/or time.
-
Please come in on time to your scheduled class. Coming in late not only disrupts your fellow student’s learning, it also lessens the amount of time that you would have to go through the course material and successfully pass the course exams and skills evaluations. With that said, unless there are circumstances that are outside our control, we normally start our classes on time with a 15 minute grace period. If you come late to the class, it may be subject to rescheduling and we would require a new enrollment payment prior to rescheduling to a new class registration date and/or time.
-
At Cardiopulmonary Resource Solutions, we do not discriminate against any limitation and we encourage everybody to take our classes regardless of limitation and/or capability. However, please take note that most of our classes require active participation including performing the skills in various simulated scenarios. Such scenarios are created in order to simulate various situations in which you might be required to successfully perform such skill/s. Also, skills performances are mandated by American Heart Association (AHA) and successful performance of such skills are mandatory to pass the course. Each course curriculum has strict implementation guidelines that are set by either AHA or by the American Red Cross (ARC) that address minimum skill requirements as well as reasonable accommodations to such skills. Please contact us at (626) 214-5882 prior to the start of the class to get information regarding your chosen certification course and how your specific situation will affect your ability to successfully complete the course.
